Keep current with relevant software, professional training, and cutting-edge tools of the profession. Though computer programs are used for most plans, the candidate should still be able to create realistic drawings by hand. Knowledge of how ecological conditions can affect a proposed design. A basic understanding of materials and labor costing. Surveying experience and equipment knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-starting initiative to pursue sales without the prompting of management. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to define problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Exceptional ability to negotiate and close sales. Sales experience a must, as well as proven success in sales. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro. 2-3 years of estimating and design experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Design or related. Generate CAD designs, drafting plans, construction details, hand renderings, and digital 3D models. 
Oversee the progression of the project to ensure that plans are on pace for on-time completion. Speak confidently when presenting projects, complete with plans and associated documents. Review and understand plans, proposed changes, and any other necessary documents. Research topics such as plant health and their ability to survive within our climate, guidelines, and codes. Perform site analyses that include the assessment of current plants, soil conditions, slope/grade, lighting, the view, and architecture style of the property. Communicate exceptionally well with clients, vendors, and coworkers. Present, promote, and sell products/services using convincing communication to both current and potential clients. Follow up on sales leads, make sales, and achieve sales goals set by management. Revise contract templates to customize to specific jobs. Adjust the total estimate according to template unit prices based on analysis of material, labor, equipment, indirect overhead, and profit in consultation with Superintendents and/or Project Manager. Analyze subcontractor and vendor bids if required and incorporate those proposals into the estimate accordingly. Create accurate estimates based on detailed takeoffs created from landscape and irrigation designs and specifications.
